Launched in 2017 in partnership with IFFR, The Berlinale’s EFM, Cinemathon and CPH:DOX, the film tech hub Propellor held a successful pop-up event under CPH:DOX this weekend. Propellor | Springboard, presented in collaboration with Rainmaking Loft, was a two-days ideation workshop for interdisciplinary participants to develop business models that can propel the film industry into the future. 35 participants from 11 countries attended and pitched their innovative ideas to highly skilled and experienced mentors with diverse backgrounds in film and tech.

6 groups presented their projects, which included great concepts such as the “Airbnb of media production”. Two projects stood out especially: ‘Amplifier’, a data driven impact broker for documentaries, and ‘Ego Cinema’, an experience hub for collective VR experiences.
