Sharp, ironic and funny – experience the mind blowing show ‘Stand by for Tape Back-Up’ tomorrow at CPH:DOX.

“A remarkable cine-essay.” That is how The Hollywood Reporter describes Ross Sutherland’s autobiographic stand up show ‘Stand by for Tape Back-Up’. When the Scottish poet and filmmaker visits CPH:DOX tomorrow he will also bring an old, worn-out VHS tape with extracts from films such as ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ with him. Why, you say? The answer is as touching as it is funny. As a child, Ross spent the summers with his now dead grandfather, whose only videotape was recorded over with something new every year. Ross’s own recollection of his childhood and upbringing has now taken on the form of a video tape, and the show is a sharp, ironic and lo-fi performance, which both makes you laugh and lingers in your thoughts.

The show has already received great reviews abroad from international magazines such as The Hollywood Reporter, The Observer, Independent, NOW Magazine and many more. Get ready for an unforgettable performance/film about memory, madness, and media. See you there!
