Join the circus when CPH:DOX, DR Koncerthuset and Copenhagen Jazz Festival invite you to a concert with freak-folk artist Bianca Casady on Saturday November 7.
Bianca Casady is known for being half of the colourful sister-duo CocoRosie, but will be coming to Copenhagen and Studie 2 for a unique solo show. In addition to bringing her always extravagant scene-personality, Casady will present a new musical-performance project that will definitely make a long lasting impression on its audience. Following in CocoRosie’s theatrical footsteps, the performance will be accompanied by haunting pictures and sounds. The experimental musician has performed the show at various venues and festivals in Europe in August, including Rock En Seine in Paris, Pop-Kultur at Berghain in Berlin and David Byrne’s Meltdown in London.
”Bianca has been working on a kind of theatrical piece that we don’t know that much about, but we know that CocoRosie has a tendency to go fairly theatrical anyway. It should be very interesting, both musically and visually.”, David Byrne, the former Talking Heads frontman, has said in a comment on the performance.
A collision of genres
Casady will perform in the company of The C.i.A and the dancer Biño Sauitzvy, who together will add some extra flavour to the performance and the music of CocoRosie member’s upcoming debut album. Casady has performed alongside The C.i.A for years on stage and with Biño Sauitzvy in theatrical performances and exhibitions. When the artists will meet at DR Koncertehuset’s Studie 2, expect a spectacle that merges the disciplines or music, visual art and dance.
